Glam Doll Donuts Review

Glam Doll Donuts has made me believe in donuts again. I was never a donut person, but that has totally changed.

Here’s what happened. About 1:30 on a Wednesday, my coworker started wandering up and down the hall, lamenting the lack of dessert in her life. She had quite the craving.

By 1:35 she had convinced another coworker of mine to hop in the car and take a field trip to get dessert. I thought nothing of it, besides sympathizing with mid-afternoon dessert cravings of course.

Two Smart Cookies Taste Test and Review

I have this terrible habit of window shopping the Flirt lingerie boutique on the corner of Snelling and Selby whenever I am stuck at that light. Which happens more often than you might think.

The food truck scene in the Twin Cities has exploded over the past few years, and much to my delight I am fortunate enough to work in downtown Minneapolis within walking distance of the streets frequented by these mobile culinary delights.

With this being my first food truck season where I am close enough to go during my lunch hour, I decided it was my duty to all of you to eat at as many of them as possible and let know how they are.

Event Review: GrillFest!

This past weekend I got the chance to go to Minnesota Monthly’s GrillFest. I don’t know too much about grilling beyond the basic BBQ chicken or steaks, so it was exciting to see all the vendors and sample the creations that can be born on the grill.

There were vendors for grilling tools and toys (my favorite was the mini fishing-pole-style marshmallow roaster), wine and beer samplings and, of course, food!

There were local restaurants and caterers present as well as food trucks, and it was really interesting to see how many different ways pulled pork could be served. Sliders were also a hugely popular offering.

Top 5 standouts for me:
